It’s unlikely that Gold Bar Bob is getting out of jail anytime soon, Save Jerseyans. I can hear your disappointment all the way from my secure blogging chamber!
In an interview with The New York Times released on Thursday, President Trump indicated that he has no interest in pardoning former U.S. Senator Menendez. POTUS was asked about a wide array of prominent convicts including Sean Combs.
Once one of America’s most powerful foreign policy officials, the disgraced Hudson County Democrat politician is presently serving an 11-year sentence in federal prison for accepting bribes in the form of cash, gold, and other gifts.
Menendez has reportedly lobbied for the Republican President’s mercy:
Former New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez following his sentencing:
“President Trump is right. This process is political. … I hope President Trump cleans up the cesspool and restores integrity to the system.”
