If 2026 ends up being another “blue wave”? She’ll likely survive.
But if the freshman Democrat finds a more normative environment come autumn? Or something closer to 2024? Congresswoman Pou will need every last dime. President Trump carried NJ-09 by 1-point in 2024 despite Mikie Sherrill’s strong showing one year later.
As of now, a significant percentage of Pou’s campaign is being bankrolled by out-of-state nut jobs including members of one infamous family. Nellie Pou only raised $427,587 in Quarter #4 of 2025, well below the $608,000 raised on average by House Democrats in competitive districts running in 2026. $164,955.63 (approximately 72% of her itemized individual contributions) originated outside of the Garden State.

- Hakeem Jeffries: $30,178.26 from the Democrat leader’s “Battleground Protection Fund”
- Jonathan and Jennifer Soros (sonand daughter-in-law of George Soros): $3,500 each
- The pro-transing kids “Equality” PAC: $1,500
“Out of touch Democrat Nellie Pou will never fight for New Jersey families in Congress, because she is bought and paid for by anti-law enforcement, anti-Israel, radicals,” reacted NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole.
