New Jersey Democrats are stabilizing after years of consistent net voter registration loses in the Garden State.
There is an asterisks.
Democrats picked up a net of 1,839 new registered voters in February 2026 across all 21 counties; Republicans lost 421 voters over the same period.
However, Dem gains were driven largely by Democrat gains in NJ-11 where a hot primary to succeed Mikie Sherrill drove increased activity (the majority party added 3,339 registrants).
In hyper competitive NJ-07, Republicans broken even with a goose egg net pick up while Democrats tacked on 133 voters to their total. Republicans narrowly outnumber Democrats (216,970 to 196,852) in the Central Jersey district carried by Trump in 2024 but slightly won by Sherrill (by less than a point) in 2025. Incumbent Republican Tom Kean Jr. was reelected by 5-points in ’24.
