An international search for New Jersey student Aharon Sofer ended tragically on Thursday, Save Jerseyans, after the 23-year old Lakewood resident’s body was reportedly found in the Jerusalem Forest.
Governor Chris Christie, attending political and public events at the Shore today, paused to weigh in and offer condolences.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Aharon Sofer on their unthinkable loss,” the Governor said in a statement released by his office. “As parents, Mary Pat and I cannot imagine the sense of grief and sadness that engulfs them at this moment. We add our thoughts and prayers to those of so many in New Jersey and around the world for this family and the community of Lakewood. Together, we can help them deal with this awful tragedy.”
The young man had been studying at a yeshiva in Israel.
