The climate craziness continues, Save Jerseyans.
Summertime isn’t exactly prime leaf blowing season, but Trenton is ready to fine you all the same even with autumn still a distant landscape.
The latest version of the legislation to ban gas-powered leaf blowers would phase out gas-powered leaf blowers featuring two-stroke engines only. Blowers with four-stroke blowers would remain legal under the watered-down bill. Eventually, even the use of four-stroke blowers would be limited to non-residential areas and only for four months annually (two in the spring and two in the fall).
First offenses would fetch a warning. Thereafter, homeowners would receive a $25 fine while businesses would receive a fine of $500 to $1,000.
Multiple towns have already advanced their own local bans.
