Does Nellie Pou may’ve missed the part of Election 2024 where she only won a point, Save Jerseyans?
The Democrat freshman defeated Republican Billy Prempeh by less than 13,000 votes in November, a shockingly close finish in a district that Donald Trump WON by a 1-point. Yet Pou decided to not read the room on Tuesday, voting AGAINST the Laken Riley Act and siding with criminal illegal aliens.
159 other House Democrats joined her in opposing a fairly simple concept: mandating the detention of illegal aliens arrested and/or convicted of a theft or burglary like Laken Riley’s killer.
“It’s striking that one of Nellie Pou’s first votes in Congress is against keeping New Jersey families safe,” opined NRCC National Press Secretary Will Reinert. “Pou wants an America where illegal migrants can murder, rape or steal without fear of punishment.”
The worst news for Pou is arguably the fact that NRCC – the political arm of the House GOP – is already apparently keeping tabs on her district for the first time.
Pou’s largely urban North Jersey district, comprised of Bergen, Passaic, and Hudson County towns, is working class and heavily-populated by non-white voters who are increasingly turned off by the Democrat Party’s perverse obsession with protecting the rights of criminal aliens over the safety and security of American citizens.
Every other New Jersey Democrat joined Pou in opposing the Act except for Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) and Josh Gottheimer (D-05) who took the coward’s way out and declined to vote at all.
