The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said additional arrests are “on the table” after last week’s Democrat-led assault on a Newark ICE detention center that resulted to the arrest of the city’s mayor.
Could New Jersey’s LaMonica McIver of the 10th Congressional District find herself facing charges?
It’s not impossible. Multiple video angles (see below) from May 9th mini-riot appear to show McIver getting physical with federal law enforcement. Section 111 of Title 18 penalizes someone who “forcibly assaults, resists, opposes, impedes, intimidates or interferes with any person designated in 18 U.S.C. § 1114 or who formerly served as a person designated in § 1114, while engaged in or on account of the performance of his/her official duties.”
Let’s put it this way: there are Janaury 6th defendants who time jail time for essentially the same behavior.
Meanwhile, a member of Congress wants McIver censured.
“I just introduced a resolution to censure Rep. McIver of New Jersey for her actions at Delaney Hall ICE facility on May 9th,” announced Congressman William Timmons of South Carolina on Tuesday. “Rep. McIver’s unlawful entry and shameful assault on ICE officers is beneath the office she holds. She deserves to be censured for this reckless stunt.”
As ever, we invite you to be the judge:
See the woman in the red jacket in that video?
That’s Democrat Rep. LaMonica McIver.
She broke into a New Jersey ICE facility and assaulted multiple law enforcement officers—violating federal law under 18 U.S. Code § 111.

NEW: DHS has provided @FoxNews ICE bodycam video from the altercation at the Delaney Hall detention facility yesterday. They say the video clearly shows @RepLaMonica (red clothing) shoving/elbowing her way past a DHS agent to get past the gate and into the property, followed… pic.twitter.com/GOAKm6U80W
