On ‘No Kings’ Day, the Democrats’ future looks female, white, and old

Saturday’s “No Kings” protests varied in size, scope and geography, Save Jerseyans, but each demonstration had one thing in common:

They were female, white, and old.

For example, there were two or three hundred at the Newton, New Jersey “No Kings” protest despite a gentle morning rain. Not bad for deep red Sussex County, sure, even assuming some of them are paid or transported in from elsewhere, but at least 80% of attendees appeared to be older white women… older Gen Xers or long-in-the-tooth Boomers.

Gen Z wasn’t there.

The millennials? Absent, probably off elsewhere brunching or pushing strollers.

Nope. Saturday belongs to older adult Dems who either miss the 60s or missed the 60s and regret it. Rebels in their own minds who – without cognizance of the irony – are still wearing masks.

Good luck finding a box of white wine within 50 miles of these demonstrations! The stores are undoubtedly cleaned out.

We shouldn’t be surprised. Public polling and electoral outcomes continue to bear out that the Democrat coalition is shrinking. Rapidly. The bulwark of the Democrat Party is now aging white women, and Democrats are lucky only insofar as this particular bloc does reliably vote. They’re high propensity. But this is nevertheless an inescapable math problem, and Democrats simpy can’t pin their hopes for the future on a demographic that isn’t reproducing.

Senior Democrat leaders seem to understand this dilemma at some level. They just spent $20 million to study the reasons why young men are deserting them in droves.

They could’ve saved their money and meditated on these “No Kings” protest images for all of thirty seconds.

A coalition of bitter, angry Karens and Cat Ladies whose primary issues are abortion and hating Donald Trump isn’t exactly an attractive, welcoming option for just about anyone who isn’t a Karen or Cat Lady.
