Rollins, Ciattarelli offer support to endangered Cranbury, N.J. family farm

The cause of a Cranbury, New Jersey family farm received major boosts on Tuesday in the form of support from U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins and GOP gubernatorial nominee Jack Ciattarelli.

”On the phone with Andy Henry of Highland Ranch in Cranbury, NJ,” the Secretary posted on X along with a photo of the phone call. “The city govt has approved seizing his 175-year-old family farm via eminent domain for affordable housing units. Whether the Maudes, the Henrys or others whom we will soon announce, the Biden-style government takeover of our family farms is over. While this particular case is a city eminent domain issue, we @usda are exploring every legal option to help.”

The farm itself, which has been in the family since 1850, is falling victim to the state’s affordable housing mandates. Cranbury is attempting to seize the farm to meet its own quota.

Ciattarelli, for his part, offered thanks to Rollins for her engagement and called on his Democrat opponent to speak up on behalf of the family.

“Thank you, Ag Secretary @BrookeLRollins! NJ Democrats are taking the ‘Garden’ right out of our Garden State,” wrote Ciattarelli. “As Governor, I’ll end overdevelopment to protect our suburbs, farms, & open space! @MikieSherill??? She stood on the debate stage and said our suburbs aren’t developed enough! Phil Murphy 2.0. Enough is enough.”
