I said it before Tuesday night’s preliminary ranked choice voting results were clear:
If Zohran Mamdani prevails in the New York City mayor’s race? And Jack Ciattarelli is elected governor of New Jersey?
Prepare yourselves for a North Jersey population boom, Save Jerseyans. At the very least, there will be a less than 1% chance that the Garden State will be a net loser after the next census. Mamdani will turn the Big Apple into London 2.0… unlivable.
“Never before has Jack [Ciattarelli]’s reverse congestion pricing plan made more sense!” opined our good friend Alex Wilkes, a frequent Fox News and Save Jersey contributor.
The Republican nominee was thinking along a similar line after Andrew Cuomo conceded to Mamdani, a socialist and an anti-semite who ran on everything from universal daycare to free busing. Mamdani is presently holding steady with about 43% of the vote to Cuomo’s 36%.
“Tonight is proof that the modern Democratic Party has lost its mind,” said Ciattarelli. “To all the residents and business owners of New York City who don’t want a socialist, defund the police, antisemitic mayor representing them, I encourage you to move to New Jersey. When I win the governorship in 4+ months, we’re going to transform NJ into a beacon of commonsense, affordability, economic opportunity, and law and order.”
New Yorkers were already beginning to migrate across the Hudson. Between 2021 and 2022 alone, approximately 75,000 Covid-weary Empire State residents turned in their driver’s licenses for Garden State plates.
Ciattarelli will need to defeat Mikie Sherrill to become the state’s next governor; his internal polling presently shows a contest inside of the margin of error.
Mamdani will face GOP nominee Curtis Sliwa and incumbent Mayor Eric Adams who is running as an independent.
