The brand new TIPP poll suggests Election 2025 is very winnable for the Republican candidate.
What can Jack Ciattarelli do to bring it home over the final two months?
One of TIPP’s more interesting findings may hold a clue. Specifically, respondents to the late August survey were told “[t]he pace of deportations has increased, prioritizing individuals with criminal records” and then asked “[t]o what extent do you support or oppose the administration’s policy?”
56% either strongly or somewhat supported the Trump Administration. Only 36% were opposed, and only 20% strongly. That’s a significant result given the clear contrast between Jack Ciattarelli who is on record pledging to end Sanctuary Statehood and Mikie Sherrill who’s been both supportive of Phil Murphy and critical of President Trump. New Jersey became a “sanctuary” jurisdiction during Governor Murphy’s first term, and four New Jersey cities are currently identified on the Department of Justice’s official list.

Illegal immigration is a major problem in New Jersey despite our considerable distance from the U.S.-Mexican Border. One recent analysis estimated as many as 1 in 10 current New Jersey residents are illegally present in the Garden State, and ICE has detained numerous individuals with concerning criminal histories over the last several months.
