When NJEA chieftain Barbara Keshishian stood on the State House grounds last month and accused Governor Christie of instigating a “civil war” between members of New Jersey’s middle class, we here at The Save Jersey Blog couldn’t help but have a hearty laugh at her expense. After all, this is the lady who earns $263,000+ annually. What does she know about so-called shared sacrifice?
Today comes word that New Jersey lobbyists spent a record $65.6 million last year. Which lobbying outfit do you think led the way, Save Jerseyans?
You guessed it: the New Jersey Education Association! They spent $6.9 million last year, most of which was used on television, radio and snail mail advertisements aimed at derailing Governor Chris Christie’s reforms.
Does anyone else find it absurd that a public employee union is spending public tax dollars, recycled to the union leadership in the form of union dues from their members’ taxpayer-financed paychecks, and used to influence public policy as related to their salaries???
How is that a fair negotiation, Ms. Keshishian?
It’s not. Your lies, fabrications, misdirections and smears directed at the Governor’s agenda only serve to discredit your arguments.
