New N.J. bills would tax detention centers, bar ICE agents from state employment

By Matt Rooney

A second batch of anti-ICE bills have been introduced in the New Jersey Assembly, Save Jerseyans:

A4300 imposes a 50% tax on “private carceral facilities” (privately-operated detention centers like Delaney Hall in Newark).

A4301 criminalizes denying local and state law enforcement access to key aspects of investigations (specifically evidence and crime scenes) within their own jurisdiction.

A4302 would bar ICE agents or officials – employed by ICE between September 1, 2025, and January 20, 2029 – from any and all state government positions.

Constitutional? Doubtful, but anti-ICE politics is good bad politics for the Democrat Party at the moment, so the madness will continue until someone convinces them its not good politics.
