We won’t know what Mikie Sherrill’s first budget looks like until next Tuesday, Save Jerseyans.
One of Sherrill’s biggest boosters – state Senator Vin Gopal (D-11), her 2025 campaign chairman – is already praising the governor, all because she made a surprise announcement of a $3 billion structural deficit and said a bunch of platitudinal stuff about spending.
“We have to rein in unnecessary spending and stay laser-focused on affordability across New Jersey,” Gopal declared on X. “That means scrutinizing every dollar and asking a simple question: does this put our residents first? So happy to see this Governor lead on this issue.”
We’d like to thank Assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia (R-24) for pointing out Gopal’s dishonestly. Vin voted for every single Murphy budget which led to the alleged $3 billion hole; under Phil’s (and Vin’s) watch, state spending increased by roughly 70% in eight years!
