The U.S.-Israeli relationship may be as controversial as ever here at home, Save Jerseyans, but it’s the disturbing resurgence of naked anti-Semitism – which seems to be increasingly creeping into the larger debate – that has many concerned. Myself included.
It’s on both sides of the ideological divide but let’s also not kid ourselves: hatred of Jewish people is most prominent on the Left, especially among socialists and younger Democrat voters.
Enter Anilila Mejia, the Democrat Socialist nominee in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District.
She dropped a true “WTF” sound bite during her pre-Easter debate with Republican Joe Hathaway. The pair is competing to fill the vacancy left by Mikie Sherrill in a special election scheduled for next week; early voting is presently underway. This is an actual quote from the frontrunner, Mejia, during one of the debate’s many testy exchanges: “And if [anti-Semitism] is the worse thing that I could be accused of, then I will stand with it.”
Hearing is believing:
Woah 🤯 – Did you catch this moment when watching the debate?
Mejia: “And if [antisemitism] is the worse thing that I could be accused of, then I will stand with it…”
