Yesterday Congressman-Elect Jon Runyan was recommended to three committees to serve the interests of New Jersey’s 3rd District. It looks like Runyan will be on the Armed Service Committee, the House Committee on Natural Resources, and the House Committee on Veterans Affairs. After hearing the news, Congressman-Elect Runyan said,
I am humbled that the steering committee members saw fit to recommend me for these three important committee assignments,” said Runyan (R-Mount Laurel), pointing out that former Congressman Jim Saxton served on both the House Armed Services Committee and Natural Resources during his time in the House.
Serving on House Armed Services, Natural Resources and Veteran’s Affairs will allow me to be a forceful advocate for Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, the needs of military families and veterans who call the district home, and the importance of a clean ocean and safe beaches to the tourism industry and quality of life in Ocean County.
