CamCo GOP Chairman Battle: Settlement Reached, Election Rescheduled

Breaking news in the saga that just will not end is that CCGOP Chairman Candidate Stuart Alterman has called of his lawsuit seeking an injunction by the court to postpone the chairman election that was supposed to take place tomorrow. A source has told me that both parties came together this afternoon and decided to push back the meeting and election to March 31.

This concession by the CCGOP leaders essentially gives Alterman the 15 days notice he wanted before the meeting, even though he has already have a huge lead time in campaigning against his opponent, Tom Booth, who announced his candidacy this past weekend. However, it seems that Stu decided to use that time to run against Governor Christie, rather than preaching his own credentials.

What is important to note is that the filing deadline is quickly approaching for local candidates in 2011. The longer this distraction goes on, the more uncertainty surrounds who will get the county line in this critical year.

  1. I can't imagine that anyone actually cares about this. For one, its the Camden County GOP. Two, mouth breather Steve Kush is involved. There are student council races that are more consequential than this.
