CCGOP Calls for Sweeney To Resign

The CCGOP is calling for Senate President Sweeney to resign after his post-budget rant against the Governor that showed Sweeney’s less-than-mature side.

Over the last few weeks State Senator Sweeney has acted with little or no regard for the good people of New Jersey. After a careful review of the personal attacks that Mr. Sweeney has said and placed in the press about Governor Christie, we request Mr. Sweeney resign the Senate seat that he occupies in the 3rd district of New Jersey. We base this on the un-statesman-like ways that Mr. Sweeney has shown over his occupation of the people’s seat in New Jersey; careful review of the antics of the last few weeks show that Mr. Sweeney lacks the respect for the office he holds. Mr. Sweeney has a responsibility to discharge the duties and actions of his office with civility. The people of New Jersey deserve a government that respects both the people and the office, for which they hold.

It is disheartening to have our elected officials to act as Mr. Sweeney has. We ask for a better more civil tone from those who are chosen and respect the other members of the government who are elected by the people. To attack the governor in such a manner is to also attack the very people who chose him to lead the great state of New Jersey. If Mr. Sweeney were as passionate about saving New Jersey as he was name calling, we are sure the fiscal policies of the past that led us to where our state was when Governor Christie took over would not have happened. We request Mr. Sweeney to issue a written statement of apology to Governor Christie and to the good people of New Jersey; to insult the governor is to insult the people of New Jersey.

Since, Mr. Sweeney is a native-born son from Camden County; we extend our hand to help him be a more civil human, in these trying times. If Mr. Sweeney would like, the Camden County GOP would be more than happy to provide Mr. Sweeney with the book Rules of Civility, ISBN 0-8139-2218-6. A simple book used by our first President of the United States. We hope that Mr. Sweeney will change his un-statesman-like ways one day.

  1. Did they give that same rule book to the Governor for calling a legislature a "jerk"? Or that he wanted to hit Senator Wienberg in the head with a bat? What a bunch of hypocrites.
