HuffPo Princess Calls for End to Teacher Tenure in Aspen

Support for “education reform” – in some incarnation – is coming from the strangest places these days, Save Jerseyans.

Like from the founder of The Huffington Post, Ariana Huffington. She appeared at last weekend’s oxymoronic “Aspen Ideas Festival” (you know, where Bill Clinton claimed car batteries” would save Obama’s re-elect) and said that ending tenure for public school teachers, i.e. automatic protection for bad teachers, is a common sense measure that should be embraced by everyone in America regardless of ideological orientation:

Bet you thought you’d never hear that.

Governor Christie already plans to pitch swapping tenure for 5-year contracts along with a merit-based review process. Senate President Sweeney already refuses to put it up for a vote… even though his political boss George Norcross and his party’s premier Internet heroine support the measure!

How is he missing what even Ariana Huffington seems to understand?
