That’s what Governor Christie told ABC News moments ago.
Thus far, we only have one storm-related reported death in South Jersey: a woman who got caught in her car on a severely flooded Salem County road. I haven’t heard of any confirmed deaths up in the state’s Northern reaches (but reports are varied and unclear at this hour, so please let us know if you hear something different). Unfortunately, the Spring Lake boardwalk was destroyed.
The best news this afternoon is that the state and county governments, under Governor Christie’s superb leadership, evacuated over one million people from the coast in only 24 hours.
We may be talking about hundreds of casualties today had they not.
