The weathermen never saw it coming.
A Category 5 Save Jersey phone bank team ROARED into the First Legislative District yesterday. Our singular goal? To boost DeWeese, Fiocchi and Walter heading into the campaign’s final six week push.
And believe me: Irene had nothing on us. We lodged thousands of calls and left no one standing. I wouldn’t be shocked if incumbent Jeff Van Drew decides to just give up, shutter his office and go back to pulling teeth full time.
An unrepeatable, herculean effort for some. True. But for us, it was just phase numero uno of Save Jersey’s epic “OPERATION SAVE THE STATE HO– USE” for fall 2011. We’re heading to another campaign HQ next Saturday to implement phase two. Stay tuned for Brian McGovern or yours truly to announce the where/when.
But before making a tactical landing anywhere else, we were determined to make our beloved Jersey Cape safe for democracy. Our own Ed Sheppard interviewed Republican State Senate candidate David DeWeese as the phone bankers dialed their fingers off on the HQ main floor. Check back for the complete video interview tomorrow morning, Monday 9/25.
