Well here we go. It looks as though Anna Little, the winner of Save Jersey’s unscientific, week-long US Senate Primary Poll, has officially thrown her hat in the ring and launched a website to promote her campaign.
Interestingly enough, Little was the most recent candidate to be rumored to run, but seems to be the first member of the short list to really kick things off. Her head start will likely cause two elected officials, Senators Kyrillos and Doherty, to actually start working on their own efforts to secure the Republican nomination that they have been exploring for months now.
Little has faced a lot of criticism from all around the political spectrum for becoming somewhat of a career campaigner, but I guess we will see what fruit all of that self-promotion will yield. While she did lose by eleven points, her ability to shrink the margin of victory for long time congressman Frank Pallone is nothing to shrug off. He usually wins by over thirty! Still, coming remotely close is not going to be enough to take down Bob Menendez who will no doubt have a substantial war chest and a ton of support from the usual Democrat groups.
Save Jersey will of course have more analysis on Little and the rest of the field in the US Senate primary as the race continues to heat up.
