Taking advantage of the GOP dominated media coverage this week, the Kyrillos campaign for US Senate in New Jersey has launched their first statewide television commercial.
The ad, titled “I’m Joe,” introduces New Jersey voters to the long time state senator. The reason for this positive ad at this time is clear. Kyrillos is holding up solidly in the polling while Bob Menendez sits below 50 percent, as he has been for months. Below 50 percent is not where an incumbent wants to be in an election year.
Part of the reason Kyrillos has not been able to close the gap any further is that New Jersey voters largely do not know who he is, so by launching this ad, the campaign hopes to get both the name and friendly face out there and into the memories of voters outside of Kyrillos legislative district.
The ad was debuted this morning and I have seen it air twice already during RNC coverage. You can check it out below.
