From the Garden State to an Empire State of Mind

It’s time for me to leave, Save Jerseyans.  I’ve read this site for years and have had the great honor of writing for the site since April.  I’ve enjoyed every second of being a part of this well-spoken conservative community.  Sadly, I must leave to pursue my first real position out of college.

I have been hired by the Republican Party of the State Assembly of New York and will be relocating to Albany.  New York has consistently moved closer and closer to becoming a nanny-state while Governor Christie has pulled us from the brink of disaster.  While your work here in New Jersey is not done, I hope to help inspire a New York Republican Revolution like we have witnessed here in New Jersey.  An Empire State Comeback will happen someday!

With New York still sinking deeper and deeper into the arms of Progressivism, I hope to take what I’ve learned on this web site and establish something similar up there. I’ve always been a fighter, Save Jerseyans, and my move to New York will not slow down my motor.  There is no such thing as a lost cause – only a challenge to be accepted.

From discussing the big issues of our national economy, to the local congressional race in NJ-01, to debating voting rights with Dale Glading, I have had a great time tackling a panoply of important topics on this site.

I want to thank our Blogger-in-Chief Matt Rooney for extending this opportunity to a guy fresh out of college with an occasionally updated blog.  A thank you to Brian McGovern the Managing Editor of Save Jersey who has taken my articles with sub-par grammar and turned them into complete thoughts.  I thank Mr. Glading for the debate we had in mid-Summer; it was a challenge which I looked forward to at the end of each article.  A major thank you to the readership of Save Jersey; your comments were enlightening and I appreciated your debate every step of the way.  As cliché as it sounds, this site would be nothing without you.

I wish the site and the staff continued success and I look forward to continuing to read the blog in the future.  Although I may be leaving for now, New Jersey will always be my home.  I’m proud to be from New Jersey and no amount of “stuff” (as Biden would say) from New Yorkers is going to change that.

God Bless,

Michael Mulraney
