When we heard that New Jersey’s Lisa Jackson was leaving the EPA, Save Jerseyans, Garden State Democrats desperate for a viable gubernatorial candidate hoped she’d throw her hat in the ring.
But she didn’t. And now we know why?
Members of Congress continue to demand answers after Jackson’s EPA dumped over 2,100 emails pursuant to a lawsuit, the contents of which U.S. Senator Vitter of Lousiana characterized as “fishy.” Some critics have alleged that Jackson of maintained secret email accounts to avoid public scutiny of her agency’s activities.
True or not, Jackson’s story would’ve been an unwelcome distraction during the early days of a now purely hypothetical challenge to the popular Governor Christie. God knows the New Jersey Democrat Party doesn’t need any more problems for their esteemed chairman to tackle.
