Christie Signs 20 More Bills

That said, Governor Chris Christie had another extraordinarily productive (and veto-free) day as twenty pieces of legislation earned his autograph and took on the force of law throughout the Garden State.

Today’s list of newly-signed bills:

S-316/A-3725 (Whelan/Burzichelli, Amodeo, C.A. Brown) – Permits certain county boards of chosen freeholders to publish notices of proposed or amended ordinances by title and summary

 S-566/A-950 (Madden/Riley, Prieto) – Concerns radiologic technology licensure

 S-1819/A-3024 (Thompson, Cunningham, Greenstein,/Giblin, Riley, Wagner) – Provides for distributions from ABP during transition to retirement programs for faculty at institutions of higher education

S-2042/A-3142 (Van Drew, O’Toole/Albano) – Authorizes State Treasurer to sell surplus real property, known as Eagle Manor, located in Township of Fairfield in Cumberland County

S-2504/A-4139 (Lesniak/Giblin) – Exempts certain veterinary students from compliance with veterinary practice licensure laws

S-2539A-4228 (Sweeney, Allen/Burzichelli, Singleton) – Authorizes release or reduction of original performance guarantee after deposit of adequate replacement performance guarantee by successor developer

S-2738/A-4186 (Madden, A.R. Bucco,/Space, A.M. Bucco) -Concerns assessment of penalties for certain fraudulently obtained unemployment benefits and requires recovered penalties deposited into unemployment compensation fund

SCS for SJR-49, 55/AJR-71 (Norcross, A.R. Bucco, Van Drew/Vainieri Huttle, Wilson, Schroeder, Rumana) -Designates Wednesday of second week in August as “Assistance Animal Recognition Day” 

A-484/S-2191 (Albano, Amodeo, C.A. Brown/Van Drew, Whelan) – Designates portion of U.S. Route No. 40 in Buena Borough, Atlantic County as “Peter ‘Pete’ Dandrea Section of the Harding Highway”

A-1241/S-523 (Moriarty, Diegnan, Ramos/Norcross) – Increases penalties for violations committed by precious metals buyers and requires weights and measures officers to seize scales under certain circumstances

ACS for A-1677/S-2477 (Johnson, Quijano, Caride, Wimberly/Weinberg, Norcross)– Establishes offense of unlawfully accessing location of law enforcement vehicles through certain electronic means

A-3035/S-2138 (Mainor, S. Kean, O’Donnell/Beach, A. R. Bucco) – Permits electronic mail notification, and makes certain other revisions, regarding the “Self-Service Storage Facility Act”

A-3253/S-2335(Coughlin/Vitale) -Provides emergency vehicle exemption for vehicle spot lamps

A-3461/S-2514 (Riley, Burzichelli, Coughlin/Norcross, Beach) – Establishes highway-related sponsorship programs in DOT, NJTA, and SJTA

A-3608/S-2439 (Albano, Dancer, Diegnan, Jasey, Andrzejczak/Van Drew, Ruiz, Allen) – Directs State Board of Education to incorporate the International Dyslexia Association’s definition of dyslexia into special education regulations

A-3818/S-2242 (Singleton, Wimberly, Webber, Stender/Lesniak, Scutari) – Clarifies that the “Uniform Electronic Transactions Act” applies to real estate transactions

A-4033/S-2759 (Burzichelli, Dancer, Ramos, Wagner/Whelan, Gordon) –Expands Sire Stakes Programto include newly-established Standardbred Development Program; allocates funds from Sire Stakes Program

A-4113/S-2788 (Andrzejczak, Singleton, Benson, Green, McHose, Space/Gill, Singer) – Appropriates $1,393,084 from 2009 Historic Preservation Fund to provide historic site management grants for certain historic preservation projects

A-4191/S-2851(Wisniewski, Amodeo/Sacco, Pennacchio) –Exempts certain persons from all-terrain vehicle use restrictions

AJR-72/SJR-65 (Prieto/Madden) – Designates October of each year as “National Dwarfism Awareness Month”
