Governor Chris Christie did what he does best over the weekend, Save Jerseyans, meeting with 30 of approximately 50 business owners whose businesses were destroyed by last week’s Seaside boardwalk inferno. The Governor’s office simultaneously announced $15 million in initial aid to local businesses.
Christie adopted an optimistic tone, reminding reporters and a crush of locals on the boardwalk that “[t]his could have been significantly worse. We have about four blocks that were taken out, and for those people on those four blocks, it’s awful. But, we could have lost all of this.”
