“I think the signal has already been sent that we are weak.”

That’s what Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-NJ11) said in an interview this week after deciding to vote against authorizing U.S. military action in Syria, joining at least four other New Jersey representatives who’ve also pledged to vote NAY.

And he couldn’t be more right, Save Jerseyans.

Think about it: sequestration-induced military cuts. Canceling missile shield programs in allied Eastern Europe. Telling Vlad Putin’s #2 that he’d have “more flexibility” after the election to meet Russian demands. Supporting the overthrow of corrupt but stable dictators in the Middle East. These are just a few examples of the many ways in which this country is less able to defend itself today than it was five years ago.

Now that a Russian client state has allegedly used chemical weapons, the President of the United States is suddenly worried about whether we look weak? Give me a break…
