Bramnick to NJ Dems: Take Pelosi’s Advice

By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

PelosiAssembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick (R-Union) took the words out of my mouth on Tuesday, Save Jerseyans, calling for a “balanced” legislative Bridgegate investigation in New Jersey since Nancy Pelosi is demanding the same thing for the U.S. House’s Benghazi probe.

“Even Nancy Pelosi thinks that for an investigation to be fair the membership of the committee cannot favor just one political party” Bramick quipped in a press release. “If John Wisniewski wants a fair investigation, he should immediately restructure the committee the same way. For weeks Republicans have been saying what Pelosi said today. Only a balanced committee will be fair and bipartisan.”

Pelosi had weighed in earlier in the day. “If this review is to be fair, it must be truly bipartisan,” Pelosi said in her own statement. “The panel should be equally divided between Democrats and Republicans as is done on the House Ethics Committee. It should require that witnesses are called and interviewed, subpoenas are issued, and information is shared on a bipartisan basis. Only then could it be fair.”

Bramnick’s right. The Bridgegate SCI has been badly mishandled to date.

The problem, as always, is the reality of mainstream media reluctance to call-out Democrats for hypocrisy in the public arena.

No one in media land is shedding tears over poor Christina Renna’s emotional display at Tuesday afternoon’s SCI hearing, but you can be damn sure they’ll be calling for Chris Christie’s gelding if he ever gets a chance to debate Hillary Clinton and gets a little too rough with his responses.
