NJGOP reports $1.187M cash on hand

Reports of the New Jersey Republican State Committee’s financial demise have been greatly exaggerated, Save Jerseyans. By about a million dollars.

That’s the takeaway from a memorandum obtained by Save Jersey, forwarded by NJGOP Chairman Sam Raia to the organization’s principal members and county chairs on Friday.

A few major highlights:

  • Falling MoneyThe NJGOP raised > $1,172,000 in the third quarter.
  • It has $1,187,000 cash-on-hand between its federal and state accounts.
  • Throughout the 3Q, the NJGOP raised better than $775,900 for the state account and around $396,400 for the federal account.

Its ELEC report is already out; the FEC filing is expected on Monday.

Relying on traditional and e-fundraising to rebuild its war chest, the NJGOP also received a major boost back in September when a Romney-headlined Christie birthday bash raised $600k. Expect 2014 expenditure targets remain paid voter contacts in the asymmetrical battle for control of Bergen County government and the open seat House race in NJ-03.

Bridgegate naturally remains an obstacle as the organization grapples with the fall-out from subpoenas. Raia isn’t worried.

“Of course, we continue to carry legal costs related to the investigations being conducted,” continued the Chairman. “Yet we remain focused on the upcoming election and working to elect our Republican candidates on November 4th.”
