Why does the Star-Ledger loathe women who can protect themselves?

By Scott St. Clair | The Save Jersey Blog

Once again, The Star-Ledger knee-jerks against the idea that maybe, just maybe, self-defense involving a firearm is a legitimate idea, this time to prevent rapes on college campuses. Perish the thought that women ought to have the right to make up their own minds on the issue.

self defenseIt’s a given that your editorial board won’t be satisfied until the Second Amendment is repealed and privately-owned firearms are confiscated and destroyed – until the government and criminals exclusively can enforce their will upon a defenseless people at the point of a gun.

You jump on the false-flag bandwagon that Rolling Stone” followed in the trumped up University of Virginia rape allegations by pinning the blame for college rapes on drunken frat boys brutalizing gullible young women. By simplistically blaming them you think you can get away with dismissing a viable means for women to defend themselves against rape and other crimes, on or off campus.

Women of all ages across the country are increasingly taking the matter of self-defense into their own hands by arming themselves and learning to shoot straight. Good for them – I’ve encouraged my adult daughters to do likewise.

They have a constitutionally-protected right to self-defense irrespective of your loathing of it.

  1. Star Ledger is against any form of self reliance. It wants everyone to rely on government for everything. There is no better means of self defense than a firearm. It allows a weaker person to defend against a larger and stronger attacker.
