“This is by far the best we’ve found Donald Trump doing anywhere during his entire surge,” explained Dean Debnam, President of the Democrat-affiliated Public Policy Polling, upon the release of their latest New Hampshire polling results on Tuesday. “If anything he just seems to be getting stronger as the campaign rolls on.”
We’re seeing it in other key states, too, Save Jerseyans, with the only difference being who falls in behind Trump (in conservative South Carolina it’s Carson).
In New Hampshire? Trump leads Ohio’s John Kasich 35% to 11%. She may not even make the next debate but Carly Fiorina is now in 3rd place at 10% followed by Jeb Bush and Scott Walker at 7% a piece, Ben Carson at 6%, Chris Christie, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio at 4% each, and Rand Paul at 3%. No one else tops 2%. Click here to read the full polling report.
This is a New Jersey political blog so, like it or not, Christie is still our focus (notwithstanding other big news like Sanders leading Clinton!)
And the news for New Jersey’s governor isn’t great because, as we’ve discussed before, he’s being crowded out from the “Right” (Trump) and now the “Left” too:
Kasich is on the move because of his strength with moderate voters. He gets 20% with them, putting him second to Trump, and making up for his own trouble on the right- he gets just 1% with ‘very conservative’ voters. Moderates are 29% of the GOP electorate on this poll, a lot more than in most places.”
Those should’ve been Christie voters which explains why Christie is pushing broadly-appealing security issues in his latest ads. But is it too late?
