After thousands of North Jersey readers participated in August’s “Best Bergen GOP Mayor” poll, Save Jerseyans, we thought it would be fun to take the temperature of another populous New Jersey county, a little further down the coast, boasting a strong, active Republican party.
You and I know how these local races ultimately have as much, if not more, of an impact on taxpayers’ daily lives as anything that transpires further up the November ballot.
We also know that social media is gaining increasing importance in electoral politics with every passing cycle.
So let’s journey to Monmouth County, perhaps the state’s second biggest “swing” county (after Bergen) but one with a persistent red streak, and see how the Republican team – and its online supporters – are performing region-by-region. Round #1: who is the Two River region’s best GOP mayor? “Best” is defined as all-around effective (a competent governmental and political leader)…
