N.J. Assemblyman says Trump “not fit to be President”

Jack CiattarelliAssemblyman Jack Ciattarelli (R-Somerset, Hunterdon, Mercer and Middlesex), who narrowly survived a Democrat challenge and lost his running mate in November, came out swinging against Donald Trump on Thursday in a statement issued via the Assembly Republican office:

At the state and federal level, government’s inability to truly solve our most pressing problems is cause for disgust, anger and disenfranchisement amongst a great many citizens. The end result is strong desire for something that strongly opposes the political establishment, making it the perfect time for a serious and formidable challenge to the status quo. Unfortunately, times such as these are also ripe for the ascension of polarizing opportunists.

Enter Donald Trump.

Instead of providing the kind of leadership that appeals to the better angels of our nature in calling us to meaningful and just action, Mr. Trump preys upon our worst instincts and fears. In addressing important issues, he is a charlatan who is out of step with American values. He is a celebrity in his own political reality TV show. He is a Republican who is out of step with the Party of Lincoln – “We shall nobly save, or meanly lose, the last best hope of earth.”

Sitting silently and allowing him to embarrass our country is unacceptable. He is not fit to be President of the United States.”

The elevation of Donald Trump is the result of self centered narasistic ineffective and lying politicians – whose only real motivation is their own welfare – Obama and other phonies helped create DJT/ and maybe that’s exactly what the USA needs – someone who can’t be bought speaks his mind Is honest and open and doesn’t do things just for poll results / like him or not – we have to respect the results he has attained and those who call him unfit are just afraid of the power that he is creating with voters – who know no matter what DJT Won’t compromise or sell the people out —and will work the deal to Benefit the USA

  6. Perhaps the Assemblyman should read the Law before he opens his mouth. Mr Trump knows what he’s talking about.

    8 US Code 1182 Paragraph 14; (f) Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President
    Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.

  7. The leaders (past and present) of New Jersey aren’t fit to lead this state. We’ve had 9 credit rating downgrades, $140 billion debt owed to public pensions, have 65% of bridges structurally deficient, no transportation funding and yet the highest taxes in the country. Decades of mismanagement and we still see no change in the way this state is run. No wonder why people are moving out in droves.

  8. Not a fan of Trump nor am I voting for him, BUT, I am damned glad he’s in the race. To wit:

    – Campaign talk is all about amnesty and how to achieve it while Obama tries to Exec. Order his way into amnesty. Trump goes off on illegals, A week later, an illegal murders a young woman in S.F. and now, no one talks about amnesty. Then the courts rule against amnesty.

    – In the wake of terrorist murders, Trump says to stop Muslims from entering until a better vetting process can be figured out. Now Congress is acting with regard to the ease at which fiancees gain access to America. and, after more Trump comments, American Muslims are finally marching in protest against jihadists. And we learn that ISIS may be making fake passports.

    Looks to me like Trump is one of the few people actually leading.

It is not that he is preying on our fears, it is that he is expressing the urgency, minus the politcical corrrectness which is exactly what is holding politicians back from once and for all taking care of the mess that has become our country. No one else seems to have a handle on the problems we are experiencing. They are completely out of touch with middle America.And we the people know it. The system has become very corrupt in many ways, and we the people know this and know that are politicians, with very few exceptions,do not work for us or the Constitution. In walks Trump, the very competant outsider.

  13. Trump is not even my first choice but I am getting tired of the same old RINOs trying to make Trump supporters feel guilty. Where did politics as usual get us? I don’t want someone appealing to my ‘better angels’, I want someone who talks like he is going to protect our citizens, revitalize our economy, protect our borders. So what if Trumps language offends people? We don’t care if he said ‘thousands and thousands’ cheered when the towers fell. We care that thousands and thousands are leaving our state, and about the thousands and thousands of Republicans who stayed home instead of voting for their last party friendly candidate.

  20. Ciattarelli is an Establishment GOP drone. When he says that “The end result is strong desire for something that strongly opposes the political establishment,” he merely echoes the terrified sub-conscious of a political party that is laboring mightily to go the way of the Whig Party.

  32. Trump is saying a big Fu to DC and the country, from all sides and angles are standing next to him with their middle fingers extended in agreement. If he gets the nod, he gets my vote. If the RNC drives him out of the party, well I’m afraid it will be curtains for them. They made Trump.

  34. Donald speaks and the political hacks respond. They are scared and should be. Donald for President, close our borders, get our country safe and then worry about someone else. Go Donald and vote out all incumbent professional, useless politicians.

  36. Trump is the only candidate on either side who is fit to run. Establishment and career politicians have killed this country! Time for a true American who is willing to say the things no one else will. Silent majority is finally being loud and clear and we want our country back!

  41. Trump will run the country like a business and not add $9 Trillion to the debt like Barry O did, plus Hillary is a Proven Liar and should be in prison! Liberal democrats are horrible for America! We own the congress and senate, now we need the Presidency!
