David Stahl (R-East Brunswick) has been mayor since 2008. Back in 2013, Mayor Stahl unsuccessfully ran to succeed Barbara Buono as LD18 State Senator along with Assembly candidates Rob Bengivenga and Lisa Goldhamer. He switched parties in order to seek the seat but lost the contest to then-Assemblyman Peter Barnes.
The new position – serving as a municipal judge in Woodbridge – is still reportedly pending approval.
