UPDATE: Christie cancels N.H. events, returns home for blizzard

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie talks to business owners affected by a massive fire that burned a large portion of the Seaside Park boardwalk, Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, in Seaside Heights, N.J. The fire, which apparently started in an ice cream shop and spread several blocks, hit the recently repaired boardwalk, which was damaged last year by Superstorm Sandy. He’s coming home after all, Save Jerseyans.

“Due to inclement weather in New Jersey, Governor Christie is canceling campaign events in New Hampshire this evening and tomorrow,” the statement from Christie’s office read. “The First Lady will continue to campaign this evening and tomorrow in New Hampshire. We will advise of any further scheduling changes based on weather conditions.”

He initially announced his intention to stay in the Granite State as the potentially historic blizzard neared New Jersey at a quickened pace. Now he’s planning to head back Sunday (if possible), telling one audience (see below) that New Jersey “will feel better if I’m there.”

The Governor will first meet with cabinet officials and hold a Newark storm presser at 8:00 p.m. We’ll bring it you live….

Here’s video from earlier today in New Hampshire at the Littleton VFW:

  1. Hope he gets snowed in NJ now….BTW, PSEG are already out cutting down trees, mandatory evacuation issued for some residents in Barnegat, snow totals increased and he plays politics….if he does this as governor, just think of how he would behave as president….this self center, corrupt bozo allows his severe narcissistic personality disorder shine in a moment like this, just as predicted.
