Hasbrouck Heights GOP serves up pancakes for youth scholarships

While Democrats promise “free” college tuition with the idea that cigar chomping oil barons will pay for every last dime of a Classical Romanian Literature degree, Republicans have long wanted to help foster educational growth through real and charitable means.  Helping sending the next generation of leaders to college is a laudable goal that we should foster.

pancakesThe Hasbrouck Heights Republican Club has long believed in this mission and last year awarded four $500 scholarships to local students.

This year, Pete Traina, who was elected to the council last year at the age of only 28, will be heading the scholarship committee.

“I take pride in being the chairman of this committee,” explained the Councilman, “Being an elected official in this younger generation, I am hoping we can exceed what we did last year because it is important to help ease the burden of higher education on our exceptional students.”

To foster this goal, the club is holding a pancake breakfast, Saturday, April 16th beginning at 7AM at Fisher’s Cafe.  If you would like to help them with their goal or know someone who would be a worthy applicant (they do not have to be a Republican) see the information below.

We wish Pete and the club the best of luck in this worthy cause.
