A ‘Hate Crime,’ You Say? Mild Words, Indeed

The "challenged" Omar Mateen

Yes, this was a “hate crime.”

But it’s important to remember that it was essentially an act of radical Islamic terror.

Hating someone is not good, not healthy. But planning and perpetrating a horrific mass murder — the worst in American history? Carrying out the worst terror attack on American soil since 9/11? That’s pure evil!

And that’s the crux of the matter.

This was an act motivated by an evil ideology — an ideology which preaches not just hate but the active, brutal, mass, relentless destruction of Americans — all Americans, everywhere — and our way of life.

Those who perpetrate these atrocities in the name of this evil (and those who plan to perpetrate them) MUST be stopped and, if need be they must be destroyed. In the name of humanity, they must be wiped out.

Love is a wonderful thing. No doubt about it.

But, no matter how much we may love one another (and thank God, many of us do) that, in and of itself, will not stop these evil ones among us.

That alone will not make them any less intent on destroying us. Not one bit.

They’re after ALL of us — gay, straight, black, white, whatever. We MUST unite in our resolve to take them out. We must be alert. We must get tough. We must stand together in our determination to vanquish the evil-doers.

If we don’t do this, we (and our children and grandchildren) will enter the realm of permanent victimhood. And then, the hatred, the bloodshed, the carnage, the evil will become the norm. #wakeupamerica
