Actor and comedian Carlo Bellario (that’s his stage name — his real name is Carlo Goias) will take his chances in court after running afoul of New Jersey’s notoriously draconian gun control laws.

The New Jerseyan will appear in court on Wednesday in Middlesex County, represented by Monmouth-based attorney Jef Henninger, and is expected to reject a plea deal offer which could include probation, an outcome the comedian reportedly believes is unacceptable.

Back in November 2015, Carlo was arrested after brandishing a prop gun on an independent film’s set in Woodbridge. He was never paid for the shoot.

He hasn’t been indicted yet but Carlo could face up to 15 years in prison.
