Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop is running hard at the Democrat Party’s 2017 gubernatorial nomination, Save Jerseyans, but to win it, the former marine needs to take down not only millionaire Phil Murphy but also Senate President Steve Sweeney of Gloucester County, the highest ranking member of the notorious South Jersey Machine.
It’s hard work. Fulop went trolling for allies in Sweeney’s South Jersey backyard over the weekend and trolled his Southern opponents on Twitter:
Ahh. Nothing like Sunday morning in South Jersey. #workworkwork pic.twitter.com/dN4GImvYCs

Fulop’s South Jersey swing included a stop at a Cherry Hill home with former CD1 Congressional Candidate Alex Law, the 20-something liberal activist who took on incumbent Democrat Congressman Donald Norcross in this June’s primary:
‘I had a great day with my good friend Mayor Steven Fulop in South Jersey today. We went all over the county to meet with some amazing people,” Law told Facebook supporters on Sunday. “Through his record in Jersey City, he has shown that government can accomplish incredible things. I hope we can implement similar policies across the state.”
The trip was first reported by The South Jersey Report.
