The General Election is still three months away, Save Jerseyans, but the Republican nominee has found himself in a deep hole in the wake of the parties’ conventions.
New polling results from New Jersey-based Monmouth University out Monday find Clinton drawing support of 46% of registered voters whereas only 34% back Trump.
Among likely voters? It’s 50% Clinton, 37% Trump, 7% Johnson, and 2% Stein.
Immediately before the Republican convention in mid-July, Clinton led by only 3-points among registered voters — 43% to 40% — and only 2-points, 45% to 43%, among likely voters:
“Love her or hate her, and frankly most voters come closer to the latter sentiment, Clinton clearly tops Trump on the ‘steady hand’ test,” said Patrick Murray, director of the independent Monmouth University Polling Institute.
The former Secretary of State’s lead in the RCP average now stands at 7-points.
