The battle over LD39 isn’t the only primary roiling North Jersey Republican circles this year, Save Jerseyans.

In neighboring LD40, BCRO Chairman and former Assembly Leader Paul DiGaetano, incumbent Passaic County Clerk Kristin Corrado and a third entry, law enforcement world veteran Edward Buttimore, are set to compete for the State Senate nomination to succeed retiring incumbent Kevin O’Toole.

It’s less a fight for partisan control (given the solidly red composition of the district) so much as ground zero of the war to control the direction of the Northeastern Jersey Republican Party.
