Jones wins Alabama Senate race (by less than the write-in margin?)

With 91% of precincts reports in Alabama?

The Democrat, Doug Jones, boasted 580,690 votes in Tuesday’s special run-off election (49.5%), leading scandal-battered Roy Moore who had 574,578 (48.9%).

Jones’s few thousand vote margin was dwarfed by 18,727 write-in votes.

It’s always tempting to spin, stretch, and twist the results to make them fit your preordained narrative, Save Jerseyans.

The simple truth?

The weaker candidate usually loses regardless of what’s happening at 30,000 feet.

Alabama simply didn’t like Roy Moore (including, it seems, a large percentage of Republicans).
