Today’s news (which was anything but certain) means that the Democrat Menendez, whose polling position in “blue” New Jersey is underwhelming, will now likely face months-long criminal litigation for at least a significant duration of his 2018 re-election cycle regardless of the new trial’s ultimate outcome.
Potential Republican fall challengers include Celgene CEO Bob Hugin and businessman Rich Pezzullo.
