N.J. makes final list for Amazon’s second HQ competition

Trenton’s adoption of an obscene and controversial tax credit package may yet win over Amazon in the nation-wide search for a location for its second headquarters, Save Jerseyans.

The company announced on Thursday morning that Newark, New Jersey made the final 20 list.

Here’s the list (h/t USA Today):

  • Atlanta
  • Austin
  • Boston
  • Chicago
  • Columbus, Ohio
  • Dallas
  • Denver
  • Indianapolis
  • Los Angeles
  • Miami
  • Montgomery County, Md.
  • Nashville
  • Newark
  • New York City
  • Northern Virginia
  • Philadelphia
  • Pittsburgh
  • Raleigh, N.C.
  • Toronto
  • Washington, D.C.

An upwards of 50,000 jobs and $5 billion in investment could await the contest’s winner according to some estimates, but New Jersey’s state government recently adopted a $5 billion incentive package to lure the giant company into the Garden State’s most populous city.
