WASHINGTON, D.C. — Chris Christie isn’t helping prepare Donald Trump for a hypothetical interview with Robert Mueller.
Or at least he hasn’t been asked.
That’s what the former New Jersey Governor tweeted on Monday night, refuting a Washington Post story in which Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani shared that he’d “like to bring Chris Christie in” and stating that Christie “is willing to do it.”
Trump “and Chris get along, and Chris is a lawyer, so you have attorney-client privilege,” Giuliani explained.
And then came the response:
–
The WaPo story tonight saying I have been asked to help prepare @realDonaldTrump for any interview with Bob Mueller is dead wrong. I have not been asked by anyone to do anything of the sort. The story is wrong.

A Trump interview with the special counsel hasn’t been confirmed, but a debate over whether the president can pardon himself has heightened speculation over a potential summertime showdown.
