ROONEY: Don’t pay people to help police; let citizens use the 2A to defend themselves!

TRENTON, N.J. — We’re all horrified by images of bystanders filming crimes with their smart phones but doing nothing about them.

Should New York City pay citizens to help the police? That’s exactly what a police union’s leadership wants to do in New York City.

Save Jersey Founder Matt Rooney joined Chasing News host Bill Spadea and fellow A+ Panelists Alison Young on Wednesday to opine on the unorthodox proposal.

“They’re trying to make a point. I’m sympathetic with that. They have a mayor in DeBlasio who is openly anti-police. So to put your life on the line every day when you’re serving that kind of leadership, it’s tough. By the same token, in a city where we don’t even let people have guns to defend themselves, we’re now going to essentially deputize everybody and ask them to intervene? It’s a disaster in the making,” said Rooney.
