Former N.J. Tea Party candidate sworn in as federal immigration judge

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Monmouth County attorney and former Republican NJ-06 House candidate Anna Little is one of the federal bench’s newest immigration judges. MoreMonmouthMusings was the first to report the story.

A conservative activist and Tea Party candidate, Little (also a former Monmouth County freeholder and mayor of Atlantic Highlands) ran unsuccessfully to unseat Rep. Frank Pallone (D-6) in 2010 and then again in 2012.

The federal immigration bar has complained about a backlog of cases and the need for more judges to help move cases along. Federal immigration judges are expected to clear around 700 cases annually.
