TRENTON, N.J. – Federal budget cuts for special education and the Special Olympics are raising passions in some circles, particularly among enemies and critics of the Trump Administration.
According to the New Jersey Globe reporter Nikita Biryukov who first reported this story, CWA New Jersey State Director Hetty Rosenstein took the outcry to a new extreme this week by wishing a “horrible death” on U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos.

“I hope she dies a horrible horrible death,” Rosenstein tweeted according to the New Jersey Globe, citing an article discussing DeVos’s proposed cuts.

Middletown Mayor Tony Perry lashed out at the CWA leader on Twitter for her remarks, citing Phil Murphy’s proposed school aid cut for his home district:
That's interesting because I haven't heard anything from @CWA_NJ or @NJEA on the $1.2 million cut to Middletown Schools despite a 13% increase in special needs students. #Hypocrisy https://t.co/thIysqmeOl

Secretary DeVos is reducing the Department of Education’s overall budget by 10%. Personally, she donated her entire nearly $200,000 salary to four charities last year, one of which was the Special Olympics.
