TRENTON, N.J. – New Jersey is roasting through the final hours of an exceptionally hot summer heatwave, Save Jerseyans, and Governor Phil Murphy expressed concern over the weekend via Twitter for prisoners enduring a broken ***repaired*** air conditioning system at the Democrat-run Bergen County Jail:
Deeply disturbed by reports of a lack of air conditioning at the Bergen County Jail. We’ve been in contact with @BergenCountySo and understand that AC has been restored.
We’ll continue working with local officials to ensure safe and humane conditions during the heat wave.

Bergen Jail already found itself embroiled in controversy in recent months for housing ICE detainees.
Some on Twitter noted that Bergen’s A/C issues have been public knowledge for weeks without any apparent decisive action to permanently address the problem:
Thank you. But this was reported on weeks ago. Should have been a priority all this time and fixed well before this weekend. This is why all county jails need thorough, independent civilian oversight.

Not everyone was buying that Murphy’s concern was genuine, or even appropriate.
Many more were annoyed by what once again seemed to be the Governor’s strangely out-of-order priorities:
Phil’s order of importance:
1. illegals
2. Prisoners
3. LGBTQ+
4. National far leftist perceptions
5. Anyone else but 6

I just hope your $7.3 million Italian estate has AC.

And you couldn’t care less about the law abiding tax payers who get stuck on the no A/C @NJTRANSIT trains and buses. @billritter7

The good news is that air conditioning is sexist anyway https://t.co/fgXmLL5sBB
